Visiting Bend, Oregon is any nature lover’s dream. With hundreds of hiking trails only miles from town (and some actually in town), it might be easy to overlook some of the other great things the town has to offer. However, in recent years, Bend’s beer scene has been booming with dozens of new breweries springing up all over the area. There are a number of top breweries in Bend, Oregon.
Here are the Bend breweries you can’t miss while you are in town:
Silver Moon Brewing
Silver Moon Brewing is not always one that people think of when visiting Bend, but it is by far one my favorites. The beer from this Bend brewery can be found all over town, but stop by their restaurant to get the full experience.
Silver Moon recently remodeled their building, and it is beautiful on the inside now, with plenty of seating, a view of downtown, and an outdoor patio. Note that if you don’t know where you’re going, it can be a little tricky to find the parking lot.

Deschutes Brewery is the largest, and probably most recognizable brand in Bend, Oregon — because they started in 1988, and are distributed across the country. You may even recognize one of their top beers: Mirror Pond, because that is an actual body of water in Bend, Oregon.
Deschutes Brewing has both a tasting room and brewpub in Bend. The restaurant can be found in downtown Bend, and features plenty of food and beer. The tasting room is not downtown, but is within walking distance, and gives you a much better idea of the history and process of making Deschutes beer. Deschutes Brewery is one of the top breweries in Bend that you need to see at least once during your visit.

10 Barrel Brewing
10 Barrel is perhaps the second-most recognized beer brand that is based in Bend, Oregon. That is because they are also distributed to numerous places across the country, and they also have brewpubs in Bend, Oregon (two different locations); Portland, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; Denver; Colorado; and San Diego, California.
10 Barrel has two locations in Bend, on the westside of town and the eastside. Note that parking is difficult to find at both locations, but you will have a lot more luck on the eastside (plus, there is always street parking, even if it’s a few blocks away). The two locations also have slightly different menus, so if you love their mac and cheese or nachos, make sure to check which location you should be visiting.
A note: Some people no longer consider 10 Barrel as a “local” brewery, because they partnered with Anheuser-Busch in 2014. Even with the purchase, they still continue to be operated out of Bend and continue to be one of the top breweries in Bend, Oregon.

Worthy Brewing is a unique place. The owner is reportedly a fan of astronomy, and because of this, there is an actual observatory on site. They do viewings many days of the week, which is a nice addition to a good dinner.
The food and beer at Worthy is great, the only downside is during winter (when the outdoor deck is closed), it is almost always packed and hard to get a table. But if you don’t mind waiting, Worthy Brewing is definitely… worth it. The original location is on the eastside of Bend, so it will be one of the first things you see if you are coming into Bend from the east on Highway 20.
Worthy Brewing also recently opened a second location, with a completely different format. New new Worthy Brewing is more of a taco house than a full restaurant, but they still serve the same delicious Worthy beer. The new location is in downtown Bend.

Riverbend Brewing is, in my opinion, the most underrated brewery and restaurant in all of Bend. The restaurant has the three things I always look for in a restaurant I frequent: good food, good environment, and good service. Riverbend Brewing gets extra points because their beer is also amazing.
Riverbend Brewery is fairly new, in that it brewed its first beer in 2013. The brewery is located within the same parking lot as the restaurant, on Division Street just across from the Deschutes River.
The food ranges from burgers to salads and sandwiches, and there are numerous large screen TVs in the restaurant. If you are looking for a place to go on a busy night or during a game, Riverbend Brewing is probably your best bet. They open early on Sunday for NFL games, and will have most the games on TV.
NOTE: Riverbend Brewing’s restaurant has since closed to become a cannabis shop. They continue to make beer though, which means they will stay on our list.

Sunriver, Oregon used to be the main reason people visited Bend, and it still remains a tourist destination. The town of Sunriver is about 20 minutes south of Bend, and there is a Sunriver Brewing in Sunriver itself as well as a location in Bend. You can even find Sunriver Brewing’s beer in grocery stores, other restaurants.
Sunriver Brewing opened in 2012, and has grown into a multi-restaurant operation across two cities, with great food, environment, and beer. The beer is outstanding, which makes Sunriver Brewing a staple in town and one of the best breweries in Bend, Oregon.

Crux Fermentation Project
Crux Fermentation Project is like nothing else you will find in Bend, or even the country. Because of the great the location, spending the day or evening is not uncommon among locals or tourists. Crux has a large yard with yard games, and indoor restaurant with views of the barrels, and is located on the Bend Ale Trail.
Crux does not offer food every night, but there are food trucks on the lot. Our recommendation is to try some El Sancho tacos (but don’t ask about the night of 18 tacos, I am still getting over that one). Crux beer tends to be a little stronger than what you may be used to, so watch what you are drinking and assume you will be able to drink less than you normally do.
Crux is one of the best breweries in Bend for many reasons, but mostly, their atmosphere is amazing. If you are visiting Bend, and it is warm(ish), definitely check out Crux Fermentation Project.

Boneyard Beer is one of the most well-known names for a Bend brewery outside of Bend, and things have changed for them recently. Before a few months ago, Boneyard only had a small tasting room in a residential neighborhood in Bend. On many days, it was busy and full of people, and not the best experience. However, Boneyard now has its own restaurant location, which really changes the game.
If you are an IPA fan, try their RPM IPA, their most popular beer. If not, they have plenty of other options for any beer lover. Boneyard Beer’s pub has spent years becoming one of the top breweries in Bend, Oregon, and now locals and tourists alike can spend hours out on their beautiful new patio.

GoodLife Brewing holds a special place in my heart, mostly because they make my favorite Bend beer: Sweet As. GoodLife opened in 2011, and now distributes to Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and even Vermont and Hawaii. They were also the first brewery to can their beer in Bend.
The GoodLife Brewing Bierhall is open every day, and has great food options. It is quite small, so be prepared to wait if you want to eat inside. Although they do have a vast outdoor lawn area with an outdoor bar and lawn games — so during the summer you will have no problem finding a place to sit or hang out with friends.
Good Life is one of the best breweries in Bend, Oregon and is always on our list for a night out.

Bend Brewing Company
Bend Brewing Company is located in downtown Bend, and is rapidly expanding. They started in 1995, and are located off the Deschutes River at Mirror Pond. The food selection at Bend Brewing Company is perfect for a night out, although the seating is somewhat limited inside.
In recently years, Bend Brewing has created more outdoor space around their downtown restaurant and has continued to create more beers.
Because of its location, Bend Brewing is a popular location for people who have just moved to town or have been out floating the river during the day — and in fact, was the first place I ever ate when I moved to town.
