Amazon.com has partnered with Marriott International to provide Alexa Echo into their hotel rooms.
According to Reuters, Amazon is looking to expand its presence in the hospitality industry, and the new partnership would allow Marriott guests to use Alexa to do things in the hotel like order room service, request housekeeping, or call the concierge for city recommendations.
Alexa for Hospitality “simplifies tasks for guests like playing music, ordering towels, controlling in-room temperature or lighting, finding local restaurants and attractions, calling, and even checking out. Alexa makes delivering a great customer experience simple.”
Guests will also be able to connect their own Amazon accounts to the devices in their hotel room, allowed them to do things like call their contacts and play their music.
The program is expected to be in place by this summer at some Marriott hotels, and other hotels chains will also be invited in the next few months.
